Family Support Services

ECS FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES includes five Family Resource Centers (FRCs) and two Ready for Success (RFS) locations.

The Family Resource Centers are located in St. Paul, Stillwater, Duluth, Fairmont and Minneapolis.  FRCs assist low-income families in moving toward self-sufficiency through comprehensive services that address issues in the areas of employment, childcare, safe, affordable housing, transportation and much more.

 

The Ready for Success sites are located in Minneapolis and St. Paul. At Ready for Success (RFS) women receive individual time and attention from a volunteer to obtain, at no charge, new or "gently used" professional clothing appropriate for interviews and the workplace. For many program participants, RFS is the supportive "nudge" they need to get them beyond employment barriers to success.

 

All Family Support Services programs are housed in donated rent-free space with easy bus access and free off-street parking.


ECS’ Ways to Work program provides interest-free automobile loans to working parents to assist them in gaining economic independence through employment and/or education. If you, or someone you know, needs a car and is unable to get a loan from a traditional lending source, Ways to Work may be just the answer.

ELIGIBILITY:
• Employed at least 30 hours per week for the past 3 months at current job
• Must be a parent of a dependent child that lives in the home, age 17 or younger
• Must possess a valid Minnesota driver's license.
• Must have sufficient disposable income to repay the loan

LOAN TERMS:
• Loan Amount - Up to $4,000.00
• Loan Repayment Length – Up to 24 Months
